Did the elites in the gay lobby sell out to PG&E? They took vast sums of money from the utility corporation to fight Prop 8.

I think they should be forced to make full financial disclosure, the public has a right to know.

Thanks to C.W. Nevius, people can't forget about homelessness. Your reference to Daly's not scheduling a hearing on the issue is interesting. Can you document that like you did Mayor Brown's abdication? My observation is that one of the reasons Brown gave up on the issue is that city progressives were unwilling to consider any new initiatives. The implication was that the homeless were just poor people who couldn't afford to pay the rent, which, as you indicate, is simply untrue. Nevertheless, they still seem to believe that. City progs are still bitter about how Newsom beat them using the homeless issue; they've been resentful ever since he showed them that they were/are intellectually bankrupt on the issue. Bravo for your role in passing Care Not Cash.

It's not funny. More importantly, it's a waste of energy, like dressing up as chickens to disrupt Newsom's meetings. The thing about city progressives is that they seem to be under the mistaken impression that they are cute.

He has the rules, sure. But the "progressives" have never been able to build a farm team to succeed them in an era of term limits.

Elected officials about to leave office, as well as current ones, who will try to bring their brand of "my way or the highway" politics to the DCCC might find themselves in a bit of a pickle as grassroots Democrats don't take too kindly to being told what to do by autocratic legilsators who aren't used to pushback!

It's a great speech. He calls out everyone on their nonsense ( hey give him credit for calling out overly PC liberals for goshsakes) and more importantly, he raises the discussion to something where we can all realize our mistakes, without being banished, and more importantly, MOVE ON.

He's a good guy and it's time we had someone like him trying to do what's right!
